It verified this, and everything seemed to be just how I left it. This was fixed by telling Steam to install Fallout 4, at which point it began to recognize that Fallout 4 was already installed. Originally posted by Brothers_of_Nod:So recently, my computer had this error I suppose is the word, where Fallout 4 along with at least one other game were no longer recognized by Steam. When the game reinstalls it is going to default back to normal difficulty and your survival saves will not show. Saves are filtered in game by name and difficulty. If the save files exist and you can not see them in game then you have the wrong save filter set. Have you checked to see if the save files are still present on your PC? It is also there so if anyone is using a forum search can find the answer.Īs for your save files there is nothing that is going to magically make a save appear if the file is gone. It was also the issue of the person posting after you. Are you telling me to do it again and that's gonna fix it? I told you how to fix your Steam, issue. The fix is to do the install again and stop forcing Steam to shutdown improperly.ĭid you read what I wrote? I did the install of Fallout 4 already, everything is as is, but my saves no longer work. The Steam files get out of sync and then Steam no longer recognizes the games as being installed. Originally posted by Bored Peon:This is happening because you did not shutdown Steam properly.
